Angel Exit is devoted to the educational aspect of its work, believing that continuous training is essential to our own and other performers’ creative development, and believing that theatre has a unique way of encouraging people to work together which is beneficial and rewarding in all aspects of life.

Angel Exit’s ensemble members are experienced workshop leaders and between them have many years of teaching and facilitating experience. They have run workshops with, among others, Old Vic Theatre, Almeida Theatre, Northampton Theatre Royal, Dublin’s Trinity College and Albuquerque University, U.S.A, with experienced performers at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, for children with English as a second language in London as part of national refugee week, at the Eden project in Cornwall, with children in rural Normandy, with mathematics students in Tanzania and with The Remix, an inclusive youth dance and theatre group in Dorset. Tamsin and Lynne are both visiting tutors at Arts University and Tamsin is a guest director there.

Angel Exit tailors every workshop to suit the particular group. They often focus on ensemble creation, and have a physical approach. This can include specific styles such as buffoon and clown, or more generalised storytelling and improvisation workshops. Often a workshop will be tied in with the company’s current production, thus encouraging an active interest in the show for the participant and an opportunity for us as a company to explore new ideas and see the work of new performers.

‘Your session was absolutely brilliant! There's so many opportunities for the exercises and I know that your work will inspire lots of ideas amongst our staff and students.’

Tamsin is currently a visiting tutor and director at Arts University Bournemouth on both the Costume design BA and on the Acting course. Lynne is currently working as a visiting tutor at the University of Surrey.
